NicoleAfter graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Nicole began her successful illustration career in 1989. She worked for various editors and publishers across Europe.

As a stylist, she worked 10 years for a company in Brussels, Belgium (Van Der Erve nv) creating new designs of colorful prints and flowery embroidery for children and women's clothing.
In Gent, Belgium she worked with Theater Taptoe, on 2 theater-productions for children: Dragons Exist and Berenbodegem (a city of bears). The drawings that she created eventually became puppets, costumes and scenery.

Nicole lived in Italy for 3 years while working for several prominent corporations like La Galbani (Danone-group, France), where she designed Christmas gift-boxes.Felix
She also created label designs for clothing and gifts for La Rinascente department store.

Since 1996 she has been represented by Kirchoff/Wohlberg, Inc in New York.
This has resulted in an eleven year long partnership working with a variety of publishers and design groups including Scholastic, Macmillan/McGraw-Hill, Zaner-Bloser, Options Publishing, Houghton Mifflin, Harcourt, Brown Publishing Network, Silver Editions, and The Quarasan Group.

In 2002-2003 Nicole published 2 Children's Books with the Belgium Publisher Standaard Uitgeverij.

NicoleOlikonijneendpauwpanter (Elephant Rabbit Duck Peacock Panther) written by Ingrid Vander Veken. The main character is an animal that doesn't fit in with any group of animals.
Karel Vingerhoets Harry De Neve transformed this book into a theater-production.

The Prince without a Princess was written by Dirk Nielandt. This book debuted in Antwerp, Belgium along with an exhibition for children and a drawing contest.

From 2003 to present Nicole has been teaching watercolor technique at 't KRATJE vzw And from 2005 to present at vzw Vocar. Both in Belgium.
